How we worship.

It is very important to us that you feel comfortable in worship. God meets us all exactly where we are and so that's where we'll meet you.

We are Presbyterian and our worship service is distinctively Reformed in tradition, liturgy, and theology. With that said, our Church is made up of all kinds of people and traditions and we celebrate that diversity in our worship service.

What to expect.

We gather at 10am on Sundays in our Sanctuary. We worship on Sundays as a Church because Sunday was the day on which the Church was founded: Resurrection Sunday when God raised Christ from the dead.

When we gather on Sundays we pray liturgically together, sing hymns and songs, and hear Holy Scripture read and preached. The most important part of our worship service is hearing the Word read and preached.

What you'll hear.

When we gather for worship we expect to hear a Word from God. As Presbyterians we believe that when the Word is preached and heard then God in the Holy Spirit becomes present. He moves among us, through us, and with us. It is what makes us the Church and His People.

What is God trying to say to us through His Word? To Love. To love God and to love others. As our Lord and Savior teaches, there are no greater commandments than these. In our Church we are always learning this simple but difficult Truth.

How to respond.

This part is up to you and the work of God's Spirit. If the Holy Spirit moves us by God's Word then we grow in three things: faith, hope, and love.

When we grow in faith, hope, and love then like trees planted in good soil and along flowing water, we are nurtured by God's Word

and bear fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven.

This brings peace, wisdom, and joy to a person's life and those around them. True Christianity is Good News for all people all the time. Sometimes the Gospel is uncomfortable but it always brings righteousness, joy, and peace in the end.

The point to all this is that from worship we are sent into the world to make it more like the Kingdom of Heaven. Our life is a reponse to the Gospel which looks like love towards God and love towards others.

"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another; do not be arrogant, but associate with the lowly."

Romans 12:14-16
