Lent Bible Study for Adults
Hard and Holy Work
by Tyler D. Mayfield and Mary Alice Birdwhistell

Lent is traditionally a time of self-reflection and action that prepares followers of Christ to walk more intentionally in the way of God.  During this six-week bible study, Hard and Holy Work, will take us through a unique Lenten journey, encouraging us to see those who are marginalized or suffering as God sees them; contemplate how privilege, fear, risk and feelings of uncertainty can cloud our attention; and practice endurance for the messy middle of justice work, leaning on God's provision and the rest when the way forward is clear.

This bible study meets on Sunday evenings during Lent at 5:30pm in the Parlor or via Zoom.  A copy of the book is available to all participants.  A light dinner will be served.

Lent Devotional for Families

This year's family devotional will guide children and families through the Season of Lent with activities, family questions, inspiring nature walks, and feast days to enjoy together.

Beginning on Ash Wednesday, this devotional will take you through the 40 days of Lent, including Sunday Feast Days, culminating on Easter Sunday.  Copies of this devotional are available on the table outside the church office.

Easter Egg Hunt

All children and youth are invited to an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, immediately following worship.  Children are asked to bring their own basket or container to collect the eggs.

If weather permits, the egg hunt will be held outside.

WCOD Sewing Ministry Team

In the coming year, we will be working on new throw pillows for Worthington Lodge at Camp Westminster, flannel blankets for preemie babies, lap blankets for the elderly and shut ins, and of course a big quilt to donate to the Linus project.  All are welcome to join us no matter what your skill level.

We have machines available to use and other helpful skills are needed such as sorting and cutting materials.  Bring a sack lunch and join us for wonderful fellowship and lively discussions!
